BIO
At the age of 14 Tim Besser, born in Lower Saxony in Germany, fell in love with Bossa Nova music by Brazilian composer and musician Tom Jobim. Later he also got interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese which he now speaks on a nearly native level, also due to several longer stays in Brazil.
Tim Besser’s musical career started at the age of six playing first piano and then violoncello. He sang in the school choir and played in the school orchestra.
His favourite instrument has always been the voice. He took singing lessons and vocal training over several years with a focus on functional voice training and jazz repertoire.
His love for Brazilian music is habitually present in his live. Besides Bossa Nova he is also passionate about Brazilian Pop Music (MPB) and Forró, a music and dance style with its origins in Brazil's Northeast.
Tim Besser’s debut single is a cover version of “Tola foi você” by Brazilian composer and singer Angela Ro Ro, first published in 1979. The arrangement and musical production was done by Norberto Vinhas (São Paulo/Brazil).
Tim Besser has recently been trained and coached by Ana Terra Pompeu e Bruna Caram (both São Paulo/Brazil), Heidrun Göttsche (Hesse/Germany) as well as by Eduardo Macedo (Hamburg/Germany) with whom he also plays in a duo (voice & guitar).
After publishing his debut single, Tim Besser is now working on his first EP. Besides cover versions it will also include compositions and lyrics by himself.
